23/10/11-Visited the Art Exhibition at Hutton Rudby Village Hall on Friday and saw some very nice pieces, a smashing variety by a lot of different artists from Hutton Rudby.

Finished a piece that's something a bit different, began reading up on 'The Day of The Dead', a festival in Mexico that honours dead family and friends which relies heavily on skulls and skeletons with photographs being altered to celebrate this festival, very interesting and definately an acquired taste.

Sunday 31 July 2011

Back to Windsor tomorrow with work but i'll be taking my new camera hopefully to get some good shots of the castle and surrounding area.

The last piece is taken from the classic Western 'The Wild Bunch', forget John Wayne this is how Westerns should be.

I decided to attempt a bit more colour work with acrylic and purchased a book by Charles Evans who has a no-nonsense approach to painting and mixing colours (I actually attended a watercolour weekend with him a few years ago and could definately reccomend it to anyone wishing to begin painting, smashing bloke). Not too bad for an early attempt.

This was me trying to get back to my miniature drawing work as some of them were sold at the Parkmore exhibitions and the Bobby Robson Charity Fair. This one measuring 100mm x 55mm.

This one is still a bit of a work in progress, Rammstein's lead singer in full fire flow, the good news is that they are touring early next year, got to be there for that one.

The next one was the acrylic painting of the World War 1 soldier sitting in the mud and devestation all around him.

31/7/11-Finally got caught up with some unfinished pieces and completed some new pieces. Treated myself to a new digital camera so I will be able to get some much better pictures to help me work from, way more powerful than the old one, it was getting too dificult to get the coal for my old Kodak. The first piece finished is the acrylic painting of Ian Curtis from Joy Division.

12/6/11-Just a smallish picture completed here, been promising to try some horse racing pictures for a while and here's one from this years Cheltenham Festival, we have Long Run pulling away from Denman to win the Gold Cup.

Saturday 21 May 2011

21/5/11-Finally a painting i've not done a lot to is of the front man from the Industrial Metal band 'Rammstein' who has a habit of setting himself on fire on stage, well worth a look if you get the chance.

21/5/11-The next is another acrylic painting showing a scene from World War 1.

21/5/11-Just back from Windsor through work but did manage to get some decent photos which will hopefully turn into some nice pencil drawings or paintings (along with the other hundreds of pics i'm promising myself i'm about to start!). Before that there's three paintings i'm still in the middle of that I want to get finished. The first is an acrylic painting of Ian Curtis, the late singer from the band Joy Division.

Time to get ready for next week at the Charity Fair at The Eaglescliffe Village Hall, which is in aid of The Sir Bobby Robson Foundation, so hopefully a successful day for all concerned.

9/1/11-Well after a hectic time at work, working all over Yorkshire, i've not had much chance to draw or paint very much new, i've a few things on the go and I will be showing them here shortly.
